This man lost his son and most of his house in the village of Peraliya, the sight of the train wreck. His house was one of only a handfull that partially survived the tsunami. During the tsunami one of the train carriages temporarily made contact with his house and some of the passengers that had been sitting on the carriage roof jumped to safety on top of his house, one of them being my wife.
